A TRIBUTE TO ST. ANSELM'S - CONTRIBUTED BY DIVYENDRA PRATAP SINGH

I've made this poem for our great school.
St. Anselm's is the best school of the world.
Its like our second home, we spent 14 years of our life in this school.
Now we have left this home forever.... we will miss each n everything of this
school..

Vo assembly me ek saath prayer karna,
Vo PTI sir ki maar se darna
Vo first period me moral science padhna,
Vo interval me dosto se khane ke liye ladna,
Vo roz roz canteen me dera jamaana,
Vo dosto ka tiffin khane ke baad
5 rupey ka burger khaana,
Vo main ground me plastic ki ball se football khelna,
Vo poore din teachers ke boring lecture jhelna..
Vo har period k baad toilet k liye jaana,
fir class me late aane par teacher ki daant khaana,
Vo PT se bachne ke liye pet dard ka bahana banana,
Vo compass se har bench pe apna naam likhna,Vo interval ke baad class me ek
doosre pe chalk fainkna
Vo annual function wale dino me chote bachho ki class ko mind krna
Vo interval khtm hone ke baad tap pe paani peene ke liye ladna
vo raste pe jo b pada mile use utha k faikna
Aur bin baat ke apne dosto pe cheeze faikna
vo chutti hone par tie kholkar collar upar chadana...aur school ke bahar sb par
dadagiri dikhana..
Vo ek choti si ladayi ko badha chadha ke batana....aur juniors ki ball faink k
unko khoob satana...
Vo toilet aane pr apne dost ko bhi saath le jana..
aur paani peene ke baad dosto pe thoda paani faikna..
har baat pe shararat krna
bin baat k shararat krna
Vo shararat ke pal,Vo zindagi ke pal hmesha yaad aayenge
Is Anselm's mein bitaye hue pal hum kabhi na bhool payenge..

SCHOOL DAYS - "THOSE WERE THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE....."

THE MISSING LIFE... OUR SCHOOL DAYS...!!!

When The school reopened in July,

And we settled in our new desks and benches!

When we queued up in book depot,

And got our new books and notes!

When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays,

yet managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.

We learnt writing with pencils and erasers,

and Progressed To fountain pens and ball pens and then Micro tips!

When we began drawing with crayons and evolved to

Color pencils and finally sketch pens!

When we started calculating first with tables and then with

Clarke's tables and advanced to Calculators and computers!

When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals,

and returned to the classrooms Drenched in sweat!

When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors, Playgrounds,

under the trees and even in cycle stand !

When all the colors in the world,

Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays!

When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table,

Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons!

When cricket was played with writing pads as bats,

And Aluminum foil rolled into balls!

When few played "football" and "leg cricket" in scorching sun,

While others simply played

"book cricket and Bollywood" in the Confines of classroom!

Of fights but no conspiracies,

Of Competitions but seldom jealousy!

When few rushed at 1:15 to

"Conquer" window seats in our School bus!

Gone are the days

Of Annual Sports Day and the Annual function ,

And the one-month long preparations for them.

Gone are the days

Of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams,

And the most enjoyed holidays after them!

We learnt,We enjoyed,We played,We won,

We lost,We laughed,We cried,We fought,We thought.

With so much fun in them, so many friends,

So much experience, all this and more!

Gone are the days

when we used to talk for hours with our friends!

Now we don't have time to say a `Hi'!

Gone are the days

when we played games on the playground !

Now we Code on the road with laptop!

Gone are the days

when we saw stars Shining at Night!

Now we see stars when our code doesn't Work!

Gone are the days

when we sat to chat with Friends on grounds!

Now we chat in chat rooms.....!

Gone are the days

where we studied just to pass!

Now we study to save our job!

Gone are the days

Where we had no money in our pockets and still fun filled on our hearts!!

Now we have the atm as well as credit card but with an empty heart!!

Gone are the days

Where we shouted on the road!

Now we don't shout even at home

Gone are the days

Where we got lectures from all!

Now we give lectures to all... ( like the one I'm doing now......!!! )

Gone are the days

But not the memories, which will be

Lingering in our hearts forever and ever and

Ever and ever and ever..

Gone are the Days.... But still there are lot more Days to come in our Life!!

NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE ,

DON'T FORGET TO

LIVE THE LIFE THAT STILL EXISTS..

*****Bundoo se bana hua choota sa samundar, Paani se bheegi choti si basti,
Chalo dhoond le baarish me Bachpan ki yadoon ko, Haath me lekar kaagaz ki
kashti. !!*****

Description of SUCCESS - Contributed by Mr. Arinjay Dadheech (Batch of 1994)

At the time of my interview at IIMB for an executive course known as AMPM, Professor asked me to describe the term SUCCESS in my own words and I am happy to share this with all Anselmites :

"Success is the procedure to identify the unidentified ego of the Consumer or Person or Community or  anything which is also not known to him, also to whom you are dealing with.
Means if I want to get success in a particular work I must have to identify the unidentified ego of the person to whom I am dealing with and that person is also unknown to that ego of him. Basically, ego is the vast term in business, ego can be nominated as JACK OF ALL BUT MASTER OF NONE, and this is the common and universal situation in every business term, relation term etc, etc, so if we find a way to over come this saying, then success will be ours.
My professor clapped for me because as per professor this definition of success is just one kind of itself, before this success has not been described like this.
"One more thing Success is related with tears" too, before getting success our tears comes out to achieve it and after achieving our tears comes out while remembering those days of struggling.

Thanks for reading this,
May god help you and you may become what your parents wants to be,

St. Anselm's Dear - A Jubillee Song

THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN WHEN OUR SCHOOL COMPLETED 50 YEARS OF UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE (1955-1956)

Let the halls resound with song,

And the echo linger long:
Sing young and old, in accents bold
Your hearts Jubilee.

Break forth in chorus gay
The Alma Mater's lay;
Yet higher,loud and clear
Lift your voices free.

"Fair unto God
And fair alike to man"
Thy cause writ high
Does lead thee on,
as years fleet by,
Sure God shall crown

Thy battles' bright renown,
Thy sons shall tell
The fame of her that wrought them well.

Home of my joys, tender thoughts awake,
When my happy school days in dreams I gaze;
And as laughter clear, I seem to hear,
Fond prayers arise for St. Anselm's dear.

Pure flow thy streams,
Where mirth and virtue gleams,
Quenching minds athirst,
Strengthening weak at first,
Our hearts we raise,
To sing thy praise,
God bless thee ever
St. Anselm's dear.

ABOUT ST. ANSELMS SCHOOL CREST

Dear friends, here is the brief introduction about our School Crest and probably about our identitiy as ANSELMITES.

The School Crest

St. Anselm : The central figure of St. Anselm, the Patron of the School. He is shown in the attire of a bishop with an open book in his hands. St. Anselm besides being one of the most illustrious Archbishops to occupy the See of Canterbury was a renowned Philosopher and Doctor of the Church, keenly interested in the education of youth.

The Franciscan Coat-of-arms: To the right of St. Anselm you find the Franciscan Coat-of-arms i.e. the hand of Christ crosses the hand of Francis, with the cross standing between. This emblem is to remind us that the institution was founded by the Franciscan Fathers of the Capuchin Order and of the traditions they have established.

The Ashoka Wheel : On the left of St. Anslem lies the Ashoka wheel, denoting that with the advent of Independence the School has been entrusted to the sons of the soil - the secular Clergy.

Our Lady : The top portion of the shield bears the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of the Immaculate Conception (denoted by the letter I and C on either side). The picture is a reproduction of the beautiful stained glass window of the adjoining Cathedral, under the shadow of which the institution has grown to its present stature. The background of deep blue, denoted by the horizontal lines together with the white of the flower half from the School colors - Blue and White.

The Supporting Animals : The shield is supported by a Unicorn on the right and a Lion on the left to remind us of the singleness of purpose in achieving our ideals and courage to live up to them.

The Motto : Beneath runs the School motto : "Deo Ambiles et Hominibus". It recalls the Saint's word to one of his pupils : I did my utmost while you were under me, to make you, "Lovely to God and to Men". Such is also the aim and purpose of St. Anselm's.

The Star : The star surmounting the crest reminds us that the school is situated at the foot of the mighty "Taragarh" the 'fort of the star', the famous "Garh Beetli" of Rajput poems and closely connected with the immortal Prithviraj. The mountain raises its rugged summit right above the school.

May St. Anselm's serve the purpose.
